John Capehart
John Capehart has been in the financial services business since 1993 working as an investment advisor and retirement specialists in the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia. Prior to that he was a public school educator and worked as a teacher, coach, educational supervisor and served twelve years as a superintendent for Winchester Public Schools. He is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College with a B.A. degree in political science and furthered his education by attending the University of Virginia where he completed a masters and doctorate in educational administration. After retiring from public education in 1991, he went to work for the local chamber of commerce coordinating a business and education programs to better prepare young people for the world of work.

Upon the completion of this service, John entered into full time work as an investment advisor with a focus on helping public school educators prepare for their retirement. He currently serves approximately five-hundred clients who have invested in exchange-traded funds and fixed annuities. John believes in the importance of getting to know the client’s goals, investing their funds in a diversified portfolio, monitoring the investment performance and making adjustments in the portfolio investments as the market changes.

John and his wife Jane will be celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary in August of 2017. Jane retired from public education after twenty-three years as an elementary and kindergarten teacher. They have a son, Scott, who works in the music industry composing and arranging music for movies and live musical performances.
